Use of Arrangement/Symmetry

Another feature that is prominent within Anderson's artistic style is his eye for symmetry.

Scenes which are arranged in an organized way, such as in the images I've presented on the right, tend to be more eye-catching due to the fact they are more aesthetically pleasant on the eye and create for more visually satisfying content to process. I was really interested in this technique used by Anderson as I found it fascinating how Anderson almost manipulates human psychology to create an effectively directed movie as well as create a distinct art style which is unique and stands out across the rest of cinema.

Throughout all his movies, you can infer a passion for creating balanced, well-framed shots that Anderson uses to communicate messages within his plot. Anderson often constructs his shots to either assist and lead the audience's eye to a certain point which links to the plot or contributes to the storyline moving along. It's a technique that, whilst being used in a film context here, can be transferred into Graphic Design - e.g. for designing a poster or image that is compositionally strong.
